Zimbabwe Crisis What Crisis?

Who wants to be a Trillionaire. Well go live in Zimbabwe. A loaf of bread and a litre of milk is becoming scarce. The basic food commodities are not within reach of the average Zimbabwe as Mad Bob keeps on printing bigger Money notes thinking that that is end of his worries. He has lost the war against poverty, he is successful in ensuring the country is put in complete ruin so that the name Zimbabwe Ruins will be a reality. He has lost the election and now declares himself President because of some run off election off he was the only candidate. All of this is known to most world citizens BUT what astounds me is the the continuous Quiet Diplomacy from President Mbeki. He is yet to publicly attack Mugabe for his Zimbabwe Ruins campaign. The latest development today is that talks are deadlocked according to the MDC but according to President Mbeki they are still talking and are consulting with their leaders. When is this man going to realise that there is a crisis in Zimbabwe and Mad Bob is the cause of it.. He needs to go. Instead we are having talks about keeping him on as President and Tsvangari as Prime Minister. The man lost the election, Please kick him out.

More astonishing than President Mbeki's Quiet Diplomacy is the Zimbabweans themselves, they have allowed Mad Bob to dictate and tell them what to do. Sure the might of the army is with him. But the Citizens of Zimbabwe needs to protest with Non Violence and get rid of this idiot. History shows us that a man with a white cloth took on the might of the British and won. A man spent 27 years of his life in Jail and won freedom for South Africa . What is with the citizens of Zimbabwe they are complacent and have allowed Mad Bob to take their land and run their lifes

Lets hope sense will prevail and the people of Zimbabwe will return to a life of normality and that they will no longer need to become Trillionaires to buy a loaf of Bread.

South Africa 2010

This is my first blog. So I thought I would write on something that is close to my heart. I grow up in South Africa during the apartheid years. The only sport facilities we had were a soccer field. We played soccer after school and during our sport periods. Following Local FPL soccer and European Soccer was our favorite pastime. Needless to say when it was time for the World Cup we were starved for information. The matches were never flighted on TV because of the FIFA ban and sanctions. For me growing up to watch the world cup live has always been a dream. When we lost the right to host the world cup in 2006 my heart cried as I felt cheated. However, when Sepp Blatter announced that 2010 was coming to South Africa I cried with Joy. I telephoned a colleague that was present at the announcement just to be part of the joy. The celebrations started and South Africa was once again on top of the world. The world was watching us again.

We are now in 2008, numerous problems like xenophobia, high inflation, Zimbabwe and violence in this wonderful country. Yet the LOC continue their work. South Africa will host the 2010 World Cup. We are plagued with negativity from certain corners of the market with comments like FIFA will take the World Cup away from South Africa. This country has hosted many successful events like the Rugby World Cup, the Cricket World Cup and many more international events. Progress on our infrastructure, stadiums and crime are progressing fast. Danny Jordaan and his team are doing a fantastic job.

I believe in this country, I believe we have the talent, I believe we have the courage, I believe we have the resources, I believe we have the will and most of all we have the people who will make it a successful World Cup.

I have yearned for a World Cup in this country for 40 years and nobody is going to deny me the right to see it live in my own country
